Niles – Ronald J. Ficeti, 72, of Niles passed away on Thursday afternoon, October 9, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Ron was born on May 19, 1953 in Warren, OH, a son of the late Silvio F. and Mary Ann (Birich) Ficeti.
Ron was a 1971 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School and went on to graduate from the Toledo School of Meat Cutting in 1972. Ron proudly worked for Giant Eagle for 39 years, working at various local stores and retiring as Meat Manager.
Outside of work, Ron enjoyed gardening, weightlifting and cooking. Some of his specialties included mushroom risotto, broccolini and his famous lamb roasts. He was also an annual volunteer for the Warren Italian American Heritage Festival and was a member of the Warren Italian American Festival Committee. Ron enjoyed playing bocce and morra and was a five-time champion at the Warren Italian Festival. He was a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4484 and attended St. James Church. Most of all, he loved and cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Ron will be deeply missed.
Ron will always be remembered by his children, Angela (Ryan) Estes of Niles, Douglas (Allyson) Scala-Ficeti of Girard and Stephen Ficeti of Niles; grandchildren, Preston Ficeti, Anthony and Everleigh Thomas and Madilynn Ficeti; sister, Carol Ficeti of Warren; ex-wife, Sheila Ficeti of Niles and countless others that he touched throughout his life.
Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to Ron on Thursday, October 16, 2025 from 11 am to 12 noon at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish – St. James Church Site, 2532 Burton St. SE Warren, OH 44484.
A Funeral Mass will follow at the church at 12 noon with Rev. Christopher Cicero presiding.
Burial will follow in All Souls Cemetery.
