Ronald “Ron” Dale Fleischmann, 84, passed peacefully into the hands of the Lord on Sunday, August 31, 2025, with his family by his side.
Ron was born on June 15, 1941, in Milwaukee, to the late Andrew and Rose (nee Neidhart) Fleischmann. He attended school in Milwaukee, and later, a teacher’s college in Mayville. He loved his profession as a teacher at St. Boniface School in Germantown. Ron was united in marriage to Sharon Duenkel on August 23, 1969, and was a dear father to his two sons, Dean and Scott. But his family knew him as much more than simply husband, father, and grandpa.
His family called him Mr. Fix-It since he seemed to be able to fix anything. He always had the right tool, part, or spare bolt in his crowded workshop. And if he didn’t, he would make it. When his grandson filmed movies, he would visit “Pop’s Prop Shop” for all his movies’ props.
Ron had several hobbies, like feeding the birds (and his nemeses, the squirrels), stamp collecting (so many stamps!), and doing crossword puzzles (the harder, the better).
Ron loved sweets, especially donuts. He passed along his sweet tooth to all of his family. And if Heaven has a restaurant, we’re certain he’ll still adjust his glasses and say, “I’ll have the chicken.”
He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He helped them create a “museum” in the basement, where they would keep their collections of various things and spend hours talking about them. He had the patience of a saint. If you were unsure where grandpa was, listen for the sound of the grandchildren talking or laughing. That’s where he’d be.
To Ron, his family was everything.
Those left to cherish Ron’s memory include his wife, Sharon; two children, Dean (Becky) Fleischmann and Scott (Michelle) Fleischmann; three grandchildren Sarah (Spencer) Hikade, Thomas (Brianna) Fleischmann, and Abby Fleischmann (Jake Clemetson); and his brother, Ralph Fleischmann.
In addition to his parents, Ronald is preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Fleischmann and Richard Fleischmann.
