Ronald Gay Foderberg age 82, passed into the hands of God on November 29, 2024, at Mercy One in Des Moines, Iowa, with his wife by his side. A gathering of friends and family will be 4-6:00 p.m. Friday Dec. 6th at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care, 414 Lincoln Way, Ames. The burial will take place at a later time.
Ronald was born January 2, 1942, in Denison, Iowa, the son of Gaylord and Louise Foderberg. The family moved to Ames, when Ronald was ten years old.
Ron was a much-love husband, father, and grandfather. He married Marsha Denekas in 1967 at The Little Brown Church, in Nashua, Iowa, together they raised two daughters.
Ron worked at The Ames National Laboratory for 35 years as a foreman in the electrical shop.
Ron and Marsha enjoyed traveling, camping, the Mississippi River where Ron water skied and spent time boating, even restoring an old wooden boat. Upon retirement the couple enjoyed bus tours together, they visited all fifty states as well as Canada and Mexico.
Ron is survived by his wife Marsha, daughters, Laurie Foderberg (Kevin Mount) of Cambridge, Sara Arriaga (Adan) of Cambridge, one grandson Leo Arriaga, four nephews, John Porter of Cahokia IL, Mike Porter of New York, NY, Mark Keigan of Webster City, James Keigan of Webster City, and niece Ronda Craft of Ankeny.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister DeAlta Porter, brother, Kenneth Foderberg, and an infant daughter.
