Ronald Larry Gaddy, Sr., 65, of Pisgah Forest, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2015 after a courageous three-year battle with cancer. A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late Clyde N and Eulalia Ralston Gaddy. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers Clyde Gaddy, Jr., and Edward Gaddy; and daughters Tonya Morris and Connie Gaddy. Larry was a life-long resident of Transylvania County and was a Veteran, having served in the US Army. He also spent a great deal of time and effort donating both time and money to a number of local charities. His loving survivors include his wife of 43 years, Brenda G. Gaddy; children, Ronald Larry Gaddy, Jr. and wife Diane of Brevard, Adina Gaddy Murdock of Horseshoe, NC, and Andrea Barton and husband James of Rosman; brother Lawrence Gaddy and wife Martha of Etowah; sisters Jean Mahoney and husband Frank of Brevard, Regina Gaddy of Arden, NC, and Mary Lou Washburn of Lancaster, SC.; and ten grandchildren. A Memorial Service for Larry Gaddy will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, May 29, 2015 at Moore Funeral Home with Gary Galloway officiating. Military honors will be presented by the Transylvania County Honor Guard and the North Carolina National Guard. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Transylvania County Relay for Life.
