Ronald Lee Greene, 84 of Stephens City, VA, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Greenfield Reflections of Woodstock.
Ronnie was born in 1940 in Washington D.C., the son of the late Chambers and Margaret Greene. He was a graduate of James Wood High School and served our country during the Vietnam Era in the National Guard. Ronnie retired from American General as an Insurance Salesman. He was a member and leader of Refuge Church in Stephens City, VA and was at one time in charge of the cemetery and church finances. Ronnie enjoyed farming and livestock. He was big into genealogy and was considered the family historian.
He married Janet Lee Conner on June 16, 1962, in Stephens City and she preceded him in death on April 3, 2022.
Ronnie is survived by his sons, Jeff Greene (Kim) and Steve Greene (Tara); grandchildren, Ryan Greene (Frankie), Andrew Greene (Cecilia), Megan Greene (Brandon) and Madison Brill (Tony); great-grandchildren, Remington, Wyatt, Alonzo, Luca and Olivia; sisters, Judy Greene (Twyman Greene), Barbara Clevenger (Johnny), Bonnie Sewell (Craig); brothers, Paul Greene (Barbara Ann), David Greene (Bonnie), Alan Greene (Barbara Greene) and Jimmy Greene (Robin).
Along with his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Erin Greene; brother-in-law, Twyman Greene; and sister–in-law, Barbara Greene.
A visitation will be held for Ronnie on Monday, July 14, 2025, from 6pm to 8pm at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. The service will be conducted on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 1pm at Refuge Church. Interment will be in Refuge Church Cemetery. Rev. Laetitia Schoeman officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ronnie to Refuge Church, 717 Refuge Church Rd., Stephens City, VA 22655.
Ronnie's family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to the staff at Greenfield Reflections of Woodstock for their care of him over the last two years.
