RONALD SCOTT “SCOTTY” HUDSPETH

ABBEVILLE… Ronald Scott “Scotty” Hudspeth, a resident of Abbeville, Alabama, passed away Monday, September 15, 2025, at a Dothan hospital. He was 77.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Liberty Methodist Church in Abbeville, Alabama, with Reverend Tom Skeen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. prior to the service. Mr. Hudspeth was born in Abbeville, Alabama to the late Richard Scott Hudspeth and Nemmie Miller Hudspeth. Scotty lived his entire life in Abbeville, Alabama. He was a graduate of Abbeville High School. In his earlier years he worked at Denney Vision as an optician.  He retired from the Alabama State Troopers after twenty-seven years of service as one of the Chief dispatch operators. He loved his job. He could tell you about the very best routes in Alabama to take no matter where you were going. His last route was going to see his Lord and Savior. Mr. Hudspeth was an avid Alabama Football Fan. He was a member of the Liberty Methodist Church, Abbeville, Alabama.

Along with his parents he was also preceded in death by his sweet and kind wife, Paula Faye Sheppard Hudspeth; his infant brother, William Earl Hudspeth; his sister, Cordilla Ruth Lucas; and his best buddy and little dog, Charley.

Leaving to cherish his memories are his brother, Richard Gordon Hudspeth (his best friend); his sisters, Faye Loraine Dozier, Dora Merle Williams, Melanie Capps, and Lucy Jane Brannon (Steve) – his go to handy man; and his many nieces and nephews.
