Ronald C. Hyp "Ron," age 79, passed away on January 9, 2026. Ron was born in Pittsburgh, PA, and spent his early childhood there before moving to Chester, PA. He graduated from Chester High School, Class of 1965. Following graduation, he proudly served in the United States Army as a cook from 1966 to 1968.
Ron later lived in Wallingford before settling in Brookhaven in 1997, where he lived for the last 30 years. He retired as a welder from William A. Schmidt Industrial Services after many years of dedicated work. Ron enjoyed the outdoors and spent much of his free time camping and hiking. He also enjoyed gardening vegetables, working on his cars and motorcycles, riding his motorcycles, and attending car shows.
He was the son of the late Robert and Betty (née Morford) Greenhawk, and the brother of the late Karen Hyp.
He is survived by his sister, Sheryl L. Fanelli (Matt); his nieces and nephew, Michelle Fanelli Grant (David), Matt Fanelli III (Jackie Sykes), Nephew Ronald Holland Jr. and Nephew Robert Mundy; and his great-nieces, Alexa and Leah Grant and Cecilia Citrone Fanelli.
Visitation: Friday, January 23, 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave. Aston, PA 19014
Funeral Service: Friday, January 23, 2026 at 7:00 PM at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home
Burial: Private
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ron's name to The Salvation Army or American Red Cross.
