Ronald Lee “Ronnie” Johnson, 77, of Albert Lea, passed away unexpectedly at his home on December 15, 2025.

Born in Buffalo Center, Iowa, Ronnie was a son of the late Reiner and Mabel (Honstad) Johnson and was a proud graduate of Albert Lea High School. Known for his unwavering work ethic, he dedicated his professional life to several roles, including stints at Olsen Manufacturing, Walmart, and most recently, Home Depot, and most recently Bomgaars.

Ronnie cherished the quiet joys of life, particularly the time spent working on the farm alongside his brother, Gary. A steadfast companion, he found delight in riding his bike and strolling around town, always eager to exchange stories and memories with friends and neighbors. Ronnie was a proud member of the Albert Lea Eagles FOE 2258 and actively participated in Cedar Valley Services, enjoying the camaraderie of outings and events organized by the group. Fiercely independent and resilient, Ronnie possessed a remarkable memory, effortlessly remembering birthdays and family milestones. He took great pleasure in family gatherings, especially reunions, and he loved hosting holidays at his home, where laughter and love would fill the air.

Those left to cherish Ronnie’s memory include his beloved brother, Gary (Renee) Johnson; nieces and nephews, Dawn (David) Barnick, Brad (Jena) Lombard, Lisa Reuter, Kari (Mark) Wannarka, Jenny (Dana) Thompson, and Cindy Thompson; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and several extended family members and countless friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at First Lutheran Church, with a visitation beginning one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be held at Lakewood Cemetery in Albert Lea. The service will be livestreamed.
