Ronald J. Kissel

Ronald James Kissel, age 87, of North Aurora, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on February 20, 2026, of natural causes. Ron was born in Aurora, Illinois, on August 3, 1938, to Elizabeth and Brownell Kissel.

He was the younger brother of Richard Kissel. He attended St. Peter Catholic Grade School, Marmion Military Academy, and later St. Thomas University. On June 3, 1961, he married the love of his life, Suzanne Abbott, with whom he shared a devoted marriage until her passing in 2014. Together they built a life grounded in faith, family, and enduring commitment.

Ron began his professional career at the age of 25 with Aurora Pump Company. He went on to enjoy a successful career in the water pump industry that spanned more than 40 years. His work took him throughout the United States and Canada, where he earned the respect of colleagues and formed lasting friendships.

A natural athlete, Ron enjoyed football, basketball, softball, tennis, and golf. He remained active throughout his life and was an avid fisherman who found peace and joy on the water. Whether on a course, a field, or a quiet shoreline, Ron appreciated the simple satisfaction of time well spent.

He is survived by his son, Jeffrey Kissel, and his daughter, Stacey Flynn-Kissel.

Ron will be remembered for his steady presence, strong work ethic, love of family, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life.
