Sally L. Byro

Sally Abbott Byro, 77,of Aurora, Illinois, passed away on March 4th, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family. Born and raised in Aurora, Sally built a life centered on family, friendship, and music.

Sally will be remembered for her incredible love for those around her. Her family was the heart of her world, and she had a special way of making everyone feel welcomed, supported, and deeply loved. Music and poetry were also both of Sally's great joys and brought warmth and connection to many moments throughout her life.

She is survived by her loving husband, Mike Byro; her daughter Shannon Kauski; her son Andy Abner and daughter-in-law Katie Abner; Step-Son Jonathan Byro(Diane);her cherished grandchildren Sam Kauski, Max Kauski(Velvet),Sadie Bradford(Parker),Andrew Abner, Liam Abner, and Charlie Abner; her great-grandchildren Santino Kauski and Beau Bradford; and her brother Bill Abbott, along with many extended family members and dear friends whose lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Ruth Abbott, her sister Nancy, her sister-in-law Mary Abbott, her sister Suzanne Kissel, and brother-in-law Ron Kissel, along with many beloved members of her extended family and cherished friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend Sally's Celebration of Life on Friday, March 13. A viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a service at 1:00 p.m. at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl., Aurora, IL 60506.

A reception will follow at a location to be announced and shared at the service.

Sally will be deeply missed, but her unconditional love lives on in her family and closest friends. Her warmth, kindness, and devotion created a legacy that will continue for generations.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Sally's honor to the ASPCA or The Parkinson's Foundation.
