Ronald Kohl Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Devlin Funeral Home - North Hills on Mar. 5, 2026.
On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, Ronald Keith Kohl of Evans City passed away at the age of

69. Beloved father of Veronica Jo (Frank) Kohl Copanic, Lauren Ashley (Donald) Kohl Parker,

and Faith Anne Kohl. Grandfather of Frank (fiancée Contessa Copanic Jr, Michael Copanic,

Scott (fiancé Willow) Copanic, Shane Parker and Emily Parker. Great grandfather of Frank and

Rosalynn. Preceded in death by his parents Clarence Kohl and Patricia McClean, and stepfather

Michael Basta. Loving brother of Kevin (Gale) Kohl, Patricia (the late Will) Kohl Gaiser, Kathleen

(Randy) Kohl Smith, Dorothy (Dave) Kohl Murphy, Candace (Tim) Kohl Sheffer, and half-brother

Bradley Kohl.

Ron also shared an enduring bond of fondness and friendship with JoAnn Kohl Vano, former

spouse and mother of his eldest daughters Veronica and Lauren, and Elaine Owens Kohl,

former spouse and mother of his youngest daughter, Faith. He is survived by many loving

nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Ron had a laid-back and pleasant approach to life; he had a big personality that could lighten

the mood and win you over with an unparalleled sense of humor, quirky smile, and charm. He

had the ability to be fun and make life fun for others, and could make you laugh when you

didn t even feel like smiling. Telling jokes and making others laugh was his greatest honor and

his legacy, especially with the young ones. Some of his favorite times were family vacations.

The Ocean City Maryland, vacations left lasting impressions with his children, nephews, and

nieces, where he was known for engaging in pranks, often getting in character to make them

laugh.

He had a curiosity about how things were made and enjoyed repairing all electronics,

especially radios and televisions. He was called MacGyver by his good friends in Virginia; he

could fix anything. This gift was utilized while employed for many years in HVAC. He taught

others the skills and love for the trade. A few things he enjoyed over his life were collecting

sports cards, treasure hunting with his metal detector, cooking and eating, and a good movie.

He was kind and loving with animals and especially loved his rescue cats.

He loved his family and touched many lives; all will be impacted by this loss. He will be deeply

missed in all the milestones that still lie ahead. Tomorrow starts without him, but we are not far apart; he is never gone from our heart.
