Ronald Kramer

Ronald B. "Ron" Kramer, 77, Silver Lake, Kansas, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2025.
Ron was born September 9, 1948, in Axtell, Kansas, but grew up in Baileyville. The son of Leonard and Evelyn Stegeman Kramer, Ron graduated from Baileyville Rural High School in 1966 and won a baseball scholarship pitching for the College of Emporia. Ron played semi-pro baseball for a few years in Topeka in the 1970s. He transferred to Emporia State University where he finished earning his bachelor's degree in English and then his master's degree.
Ron worked for Amoco Oil in Kansas City, Farmland Industries, the Missouri-Pacific Railroad in San Antonio and at Goodyear for five years before beginning his career as a counselor in 1976 at Silver Lake High School. He served there for 34 years before retiring. During all of that time, Ron also farmed, which he loved. He also had a love of writing poetry, fishing, slow pitch softball and his family trips to Branson.
Left to cherish Ron's memory are his sons, Eric Kramer (Shelly) and Colby Kramer; grandson, Ryan; siblings, Gary Kramer (Helen), Duane Kramer (Susan) and Daniel Kramer (Gale Ann); Linda Dolezal; and life-long friend, Becky Robb. He was preceded in death by his parents and his infant son, Ryan Edward.
The rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church, 2014 NW 46th Street, Topeka KS 66618, followed by visitation until 7:30 p.m.
Friday morning at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Baileyville, Kansas, viewing will be at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Baileyville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Boys Town and to Sacred Heart Ball Association, sent in care of Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614.
