Mr. Ronald P. LaChance of Port Jervis, NY, passed Friday, January 10, 2025 at home with his family by his side. He was 78. He was born December 26, 1946 in Port Jervis, NY the son of the late Roland LaChance and the late Clara Conklin LaChance. Ronald was happily married to Sharon on February 14, 1999 in Otisville, NY. Ronald owned ABC Plumbing in Cuddebackville, NY. A family statement read: Ronald was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather. He had a unique sense of humor that could light up any room, and no matter the challenge, he always found a way to turn even the hardest moments into a joke-his fight with cancer was no exception. Ronald lived life on his own terms, never letting anyone tell him he couldn't do something. He had a deep love for music and was the proud founder of the band "Wild Country," a passion that brought joy to many. He also had a lifelong love for cars, and it was impossible for him to drive past a dealership without stopping to see what new vehicles were on display-or perhaps find one to add to his collection. But nothing compared to Ronald's love for his grandkids. He would do anything for them, and each one of them held a special place in his heart. He even gave each grandbaby a unique nickname, something special just for them. Ronald's larger-than-life spirit, his unwavering humor, and his deep love for his family will be missed by all who knew him. His legacy of laughter, love, and determination will live on in our hearts. Surviving are: his beloved wife Sharon LaChance, 5 children: Angel Wickstead, Ronnie LaChance (Kim), Rick LaChance (Jennifer), Todd Brown (Nicole), Gerry Henry (Ann), 2 sisters: Barbara Besson (Wayne), Peggy LaChance, 12 grandchildren: Peyton, Brooke, Brandon "Bobo", Ethan, Kristen, Alyssa, Dylan, Skylar, Joshua, Sean, Faith, Jordan, and Jacob, several great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his siblings: Pat, Diane, Carol, Sharon, Tommy and Roger.
Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
Cremation will be held at MacLennan Hall Crematorium, Milford, PA.
