Ronald Howard Lange, affectionately known as Ronnie, passed away on October 21, 2025, at the age of 73, in the serene town of Trenton, GA. Born on May 19, 1952, in Cicero, IL, Ronnie was a man whose life was as rich and vibrant as the open road he so loved to travel.
Ronnie was the cherished son of the late Howard and Mary Lange and the beloved stepson of the late Walter (Gus) Lucas. His life was a testament to love and commitment, exemplified by his enduring relationship with his late wife, Janice, with whom he shared a lifetime of joy and adventure. The legacy of their love continues through their children, Cory (Shannon) Lange, Shari (Bill) Komm, Nicole Blalock, Bryan Blalock, and Michelle (Michael) Crump. Ronnie's spirit will be carried on in the hearts of his adored grandchildren, Angelina, John (Lexie), Lucas, Sean, Billy, Emerie, Kieran, and Selena.
Ronnie's memory is honored by his siblings, Sherdean Darby, Howard (Marilyn) Lange, and Paul Lucas, who will miss his presence dearly. His life touched many, leaving a void in the lives of his numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Preceding him in death were his wife, Janice Lange; parents, Howard and Mary Lange; step-father, Walter Lucas; sister, Sandy (Kenny) Wentz; stepbrother, Walter Lucas Jr.; brother-in-law, Jim Darby; and niece, JeriLynn.
Ronnie's career as a dedicated truck driver showcased his strong work ethic and pride in his profession. His life was a reflection of the things he valued most: friendship, generosity, and a sense of adventure. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, like shooting pool, throwing darts, and the exhilaration of riding his beloved Harley. His motorcycle was not just a pastime; it was a symbol of freedom, a conduit for camaraderie, and an expression of his adventurous soul.
A patriot at heart, Ronnie's dedication to honoring and supporting veterans was unwavering. He gave back to the community with a generosity that knew no bounds, participating in countless Toys for Tots rides and other charitable events that benefited those who had served. His friendly demeanor and readiness to lend a hand were the hallmarks of his character.
Ronnie's life was one of giving and adventure, a journey marked by the generosity he extended to all he met. As a friend to many, his absence will be deeply felt, but the memories of his adventurous spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him. Ronnie's story is not one of sorrow, but a celebration of a life well-lived, a life that will be remembered with smiles and stories of a man who was truly larger than life.

In honor of Ronnie's remarkable life, a visitation will be held on Monday, 10/27/25 from 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Modell Funeral Home, 7710 S. Cass Ave., Darien. Friends and family are invited to return to the funeral home on Tuesday, 10/28/25 for additional visitation from 9:00 am – 10:00 am. A service will be held at the funeral home at 10:00 am followed by a procession to Clarendon Hills Cemetery in Darien.
