Ronald (Ronnie) Brown Lewis, 76, of Carolina Beach, passed away on September 24, 2025. Born July 1, 1949, Ronnie was a lifelong resident of Carolina Beach and devoted more than four decades to fire service. He spent 41 years with the Wilmington Fire Department, retiring as Battalion Chief. He also served several years with the Carolina Beach Fire Department. His leadership, dedication, and commitment to serving his fellow firefighters and the community earned the admiration and respect of his colleagues and the communities he served.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sarah Raynor Lewis, and by his brothers D.A. Lewis, Michael Lewis, and Jerry Lewis.

Ronnie is survived by his son, Michael Brown Lewis; his daughter, Meredith Lewis Canuel, and her husband, Chris Canuel; and ten grandchildren: Jason, Noah, Caleb, Amelia, Sarah, David, Hannah, Joshua, Elijah, and Abigail. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Patch, along with many extended family members, and friends.

Ronnie's life was rooted in the Carolina Beach community he loved. Known for his love for the community, strong will, generosity, storytelling, knowledge of local history, and ability to make folks laugh, he will be remembered by many with much affection. He was also an avid fisherman and a member of Federal Point Lodge No. 753, A.F&A.M, Carolina Beach.

A funeral service will be held at Seaside Chapel on October 7th at 6pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Seaside Chapel, where he was a member.
