Ronald Gary Marquez, age 85, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025, at his home in Dallas, Oregon. Born on April 20, 1940, to Rosella and Rosendo Marquez, Ron grew up in Eugene, where he attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and later graduated from Marist Catholic High School. He continued his education at Lane Community College, earning an Associate of Arts degree.
In 1959, Ron proudly enlisted in the United States Navy, serving honorably until 1963. His years in the service shaped his strong work ethic, steady character, and lifelong sense of duty. Following his military service, Ron built a distinguished career at Tektronix Inc. in Beaverton, Oregon, where he worked as a Product Marketing Manager. His creativity and technical insight led to several awarded patents.
On March 22, 1985, Ron married the love of his life, Carol. Together they shared four decades of companionship, laughter, and devotion. Ron was an avid photographer with a keen eye for detail and beauty. He especially loved traveling with Carol and spending time along the Oregon Coast, a place that brought him peace and inspiration.
Ron is survived by his wife, Carol Marquez; his sister, Carmen Brandreth; and his brother, Michael Marquez. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Russell Marquez.Memorial contributions in Ron’s honor may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, The Salvation Army, Tunnels to Towers, or the CAT Adoption Team. Ronald's ashes will be placed at Willamette National Cemetery.
