Tim Stamnitz
October 25, 2025
I´m sorry that I couldn´t attend the Memorial yesterday, Oct 24, 2025, for my dear ("second") cousin, Ron Martens. All my love and sympathy to his beloved bride and my longtime friend, Jenny Martens! Wishing you and your vast network of family and friends the Love & Peace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Although I´ve predominantly been in Southern California the past 57 years, it was a special time to meet with Ron & Jenny last at the Martens-Stamnitz Reunion in 2016! Ron went out of his way to take me and my son, Chris, to meet with dear Susan (McHalpine) and her husband (photo below). At that time Ron shared with me a mid 1950´s photo of him with sisters Donna and Irene, who were also very special relatives in those years. I recall once while staying with Aunt Lena (Stamnitz) Martens and Freddy in the summer, Ron coming home in uniform after serving in the Korean War-I was only 8 yr. old. Years later in the mid-`50´s we would walk with Freddie and Irene from Aunt Lena´s to the little Sebewaing movie theatre to see movie´s like "Aaron Slick from pumpkin Crick," etc. Although many decades have passed, my memories of Sharpsteen St. where I was born and visited Uncle Jake & Aunt Lena, and my grandparents, Charles & Ida Stamnitz on "the other side" of Sharpsteen, will never fade... all love & blessings always,
Timothy Carl Stamnitz
