Loved brother Ron and sister Aquila. It´s was my honor to share many worship services with them over the years and to get to play guitar with them when they were ministering in our area at Truth Temple and Canaan Baptist. I´m sure he , Kyla and their mom are worshiping together around the throne. I´m happy for him but he will truly be missed, but we´ll see them again. God bless his family and comfort them . I´ve spent the day reminiscing about one of my heroes, Ron Martin has always been apart of my life. It´s hard to put into words what he meant to me.
He is one of the people who demonstrated digging deeper into the Word of God. He challenged me to really search the Scriptures and to let them change me. My faith grew stronger because of his teaching.
He shaped my love for music and ministry. He showed me that singing isn´t about performance - it´s about sharing the message from your heart. He encouraged me to mean what I sing and to use my voice to point people to the ONE we sang about.
Charity and I were talking today about one of our favorite memories anytime he set up sound system before he sang at different churches, he´d already be singing, "Gloryland is not so far away." I can just hear him test those mics with "Gloryland....gloryland...." over and over.
Yesterday, Ron entered Gloryland!
I´m so grateful for the time I had with him. His voice, his teaching, and his example of letting the message move through the heart before sharing it with anyone else.
