It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Ronald Byron Mason. Ron passed away peacefully on February 22, 2022. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Dani (Ransford) Mason on February 26, 2021. Since Ruth's passing, Ron has been living life with a broken heart. They shared a tremendous love for each other.
Ron was preceded in death by his Father, Merlin Mason, his Mother, Nona (Barnes) Mason and his only sister, Patricia (Mason) Horne. He is survived by his children, Jeffrey S. Mason, Lori D.(Mason)Richards and Sheri S. (Mason) Chojnowski, along with his Step Children, Kurt Weideman, Robyn (Weideman) Kasper and Eric Gan. Ron had thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Ron was born in Burbank, California in 1936. He spent his childhood living in El Segundo, Lawndale and Inglewood. His parents moved around to follow his father's jobs and finally settled in Westchester in 1943. Ron graduated from UCLA in 1959 with a major in political science but went to work for an advertising agency in Los Angeles, then started his own advertising business in 1963. Through his adult years, he married, had three children, divorced and was then introduced to the "Love of his Life", Ruth Ransford. They married in 1975 and blended their families, Ron's three children and Ruth's three children. They lived in Westminster, CA and practiced Biofeedback Therapy until they retired and moved to The Meadows in Irvine.
Ron was loyal to his friends and family. He worked at maintaining relationships until Ruth became ill. His attitude was always positive and never felt there was a problem that could not be solved. He was loved by those who knew him and admired by those who didn't.
Ron spent his final days reading and writing. He loved to write, to share his knowledge and experiences. He enjoyed music and movies that either made him sing or cry with laughter. This man wanted to live forever, and he will through memories shared with those who knew and loved him.
