Veldon Michael "Mike" Reyes

Veldon Michael Reyes was born on February 18, 1946, in Whittier, California, to Michael Jauregui Reyes and Elnora Ruth Maddux Reyes. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 22, 2026, in Newport Beach, California.

Mike, as he was known to family and friends, was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Married to his wife of 61 years, JoAnn LaGrone Reyes, he dedicated his life to loving and supporting his family. He found immense joy in the lives of his five children – Lisa, Eric, Aaron, Tiffany, and Mark; his thirteen grandchildren; and his three great-grandchildren. Mike was known for his kindness, generosity, and compassion, which he extended to all who knew him. His unwavering dedicated and passionate spirit, and loving heart left an indelible mark on those around him.

Services to honor Mike's life will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026. A service will be held at 10:00 a.m. at O'Connor Mortuary (25301 Alicia Pkwy, Laguna Hills, CA 92653). A graveside ceremony will take place at 1:00 p.m. at Ascension Cemetery (24754 Trabuco Rd, Lake Forest, CA 92630).
