Ronald Matty Obituary
He was born in Meridian, CT on May 26, 1939, eldest son of the late Edward and Theresa Matty. He is survived by his wife, Leigh Vassar Matty and two children, Patrick Adam Matty and Michelle Matty Helms (Richard). He is also survived by his step-daughters, Chelsey Armstrong (Andy) and Chaney McGehee (Jason); his granddaughters, Sarah Matty Patterson, Jessica Scott Matty, Danielle Matty, Devin Alexis Helms and Autumn Olivia Helms; and his two brothers, Francis Matty and Raymond Matty. He is preceded in death by his son, Matthew Scott Matty.
As a decorated military veteran of 43 years, Ron served in the Navy Army and Civil Service and was awarded three Purple Hearts. He was an avid reader and enjoyed sailing, boats and sports, especially football.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM, Monday, March 10, 2025 at Grace Presbyterian Church, 7211 Britton Drive, Columbus, Georgia.
