Ronald Oran McAdams, known affectionately as “Ronnie,” passed away on July 20, 2024, in Smithville, Texas, at the age of 76. Born on February 10, 1948, in Austin, Texas, he was a cherished member of his community and a beloved figure in his family.

Family was the cornerstone of Ronnie's life. He is survived by his mother, Ilene McAdams; daughter, Shawn McAdams; granddaughter, Brandi Gilbert and her husband Michael; great-grandson, Orin Gilbert; grandson, Harrison Dennis; son, David McAdams; daughter-in-law, Jolie McAdams; grandson, Jayce McAdams; former wife and mother of his children, Deborah Taylor; sisters, Shirley (McAdams) Cearley, Patricia (McAdams) Holland, Kathy (McAdams) Stenson and her husband Larry, and Jo (McAdams) Shell; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Ronnie was preceded in death by his loving wife, Janet (Ozell) McAdams; father, Oran Lee McAdams; grandson, David Hayden McAdams; and sister, Nancy Marie McAdams.

Professionally, Ronnie dedicated years to the McAdams Roofing Company alongside his father before venturing into his own business, McAdams Construction. Known for his work ethic, Ronnie was equally recognized for his ability to tackle challenges and bring creative solutions to projects. Whether he was repairing vehicles or overseeing construction projects, Ronnie was a testament to the power of hard work and dedication.

Ronnie was a regular attendee of Cedar Valley Baptist Church, where he worshipped alongside his mother, Ilene McAdams. His faith and the community he found at church were an integral part of his life.

Ronnie's warmth, wisdom, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy will live on in the memories he leaves behind and the profound impact he had on his family and friends.

Family and Friends will gather for Visitation at Elgin Funeral Home, Thursday, July 25th from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, followed by A Celebration of Ronald’s Life will follow at Elgin Funeral Home, under the auspices of Cedar Valley Baptist Church with Pastors Derek Brown and Mark McAdams presiding. Interment will follow at Walnut Creek Baptist Church Cemetery of Austin.
