McCullough Funeral HomeRonald “Ron” Hawley McArthur, 65, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, after bravely battling glioblastoma for nearly two years.
Ron was born on May 22, 1960, in Savannah, Georgia, to the late William Patterson McArthur, Sr. and Abigail Hawley McArthur. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he was affectionately known as “Ron Man” by those closest to him. Family was the cornerstone of his life, and he especially cherished his role as a fun and loving grandfather. He delighted in creating memories with his loved ones, whether on the shores of Tybee Island or in the peaceful beauty of the North Georgia mountains.
Ron worked and eventually retired as a Senior Staking Technician for Flint Energies. Known for his strong work ethic and natural skill as a handyman, he was always ready to fix or build something with care. A man of deep Christian faith, his calm and steady presence was a source of comfort to those around him. He found joy in the outdoors, whether it be hunting and fishing with his sons, kayaking and hiking with his wife, or enjoying outdoor activities in the beauty of nature whenever he could. Ron will be deeply missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his brother, Craig McArthur.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 41 years, Cindy Curington McArthur; sons, Kyle McArthur (Brooke) and Cole McArthur (Erin); grandchildren, Addison McArthur, Grayson McArthur, and Harrison McArthur; and siblings, Pat McArthur (Geri) and Beatrice McArthur Sanders (Mike), along with many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
A memorial gathering will be Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A memorial service will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home.
