Ronald Patrick "Ron" McCue, 62 of Yorkville, IL, passed away on February 22, 2026. He was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend and his presence will be deeply missed. Ron was born in Aurora, IL to Robert & Judy nee Kartheiser McCue on April 18, 1963.

His love of sports & the great outdoors started in his youth and continued into adulthood. As a kid, hunting and fishing with his dad and brothers was a treasured memory for Ron along with playing Little League Baseball.

In his teen years, Ron Played football and was a wrestler for East Aurora High School. Later on, Ron attended Waubonsee Community College and took up bowling, golf and became a member of the Dolan & Murphy fast pitch softball team for many years.

On the flip side, Ron also enjoyed collecting coins, metal detecting, and scoping out flea markets and antique stores in search of antique tool boxes and tackle boxes. He could also be found building sets and sometimes performing with Fox Country Players Community Theatre. Ron couldn't miss a Chicago Blackhawks game and enjoyed attending many concerts by his favorite singer Richard Marx. He also had the rare gift of being able to find four-leaf clovers wherever he went.

One of Ron's first jobs was as a cook at McCue's Pub. He also worked for Merchant's National Bank as a teller and later on was assigned to the cash vault where he enjoyed searching for old coins. Finally, Ron joined the family business Thomas Pump Co. He worked beside his dad and two brothers and helped make Thomas Pump a well-known and respected business.

Ron is survived by his fiancée Sherrie Wirtz of Yorkville, IL, his father Robert McCue, Sr., brothers Robert (Brenda) McCue, Jr., Michael (Ann) McCue and sister Mary McCue. He was blessed with nieces Ries (Isaac Arroyo) McCue, Riley McCue, Casey Glassman and nephews Jeremiah (Julia) McCue and Cory (Angelica) McCue, along with great-nieces Abby, Ava and Alaina McCue, Anya McCue and a great-nephew Duncan Arroyo.

Ron was preceded in death by his mother Judy McCue and brothers Randy and Jeff McCue.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026 from 9:00 AM until a funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 722 High Street, Aurora, IL 60505. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ron's name can be made to Suicide Prevention Services of America, 528 S. Batavia Ave., Batavia, IL 60510 or The Fox Country Players, P.O.
