In loving memory of Beverly K. Vandervort, age 86 of Montgomery, IL, who graced this world from September 12, 1939, to March 13, 2026. She was born in Bloomington, Illinois, to the late Hugh and Vera Mae Bicknell. During her childhood, she was lovingly raised by her late grandmother, Minnie Ethel Bicknell, who held a special place in her heart.
Beverly lived a life defined by love, kindness, warmth, and deep devotion to her family and long-time friends. She was a bright presence in so many lives and found great joy in the simple moments spent with loved ones. Those who knew Beverly remember her gentle spirit, warm smile, and the way she made people feel welcomed and cared for. She found happiness in time spent with family, laughter with dear friends, and watching the generations of her family grow.
She was a devoted wife of the late Conrad Vandervort, who was the love of her life. Above all else, Beverly cherished being a mother and grandmother, which were roles that brought her immense pride, joy, and happiness. She was a nurturing and loving mother to her surviving sons, Ron (Deborah) Woodrum and Art (Sue) Woodrum, and was predeceased by her beloved daughters Susan Farrow, Laurie Woodrum, and great-granddaughter, Sydney Cantwell.
Beverly shared a close bond with all her siblings, and her kindness lives on in her surviving sister, Marilyn Long and brothers Bill and Douglas Bicknell. She was predeceased by her brothers Gerald Bicknell and Dan Burns, and her sister JoAnna Burns. Beverly's loving legacy continues through her grandchildren Christy Valyou, Jennifer Meier, and Jordan Woodrum, and her adored great-grandchildren Emerson, Nolan, and Violet Valyou; Connor Schmidt, Quinn Chirkina, and Emily Schmidt; and her great-great-grandchild, Elliot Chirkina.
She will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the honor of knowing her. May her soul rest in eternal peace, reunited with her loved ones who have gone before her.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 9:00 AM until a funeral service at 11:00 AM at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543. Burial next to her husband will follow at Pearce Cemetery in Oswego, IL. For information: 630/554-3888 or www.dunnfamilyfuneralhome.com
