Ron was born on April 29, 1937, in Little Falls, Minnesota, to the late Herbert and Bertha (Hartmann) Nagel. He grew up in Pierz, Minnesota, where he attended school and graduated from Father Pierz Memorial High School with the Class of 1955. After graduation, Ron attended Lewis University in Chicago, Illinois, where he completed his degree. Ron was united in marriage to Marla Gordon on January 26, 1959, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sartell, Minnesota. The couple made their home in Little Falls in 1962 when Ron began working at Little Falls Granite Works. Shortly after, he bought into ownership of the business and eventually became the sole owner. He later founded Nadco Marble, a company he continued to operate with pride and dedication. In 2007, he sold Little Falls Granite Works but remained very active in the day-to-day operations of Nadco Marble. After the passing of his beloved wife Marla, Ron met Carol Hoheisel. The two formed a close friendship that grew into a meaningful and loving relationship, and later they became engaged. Ron and Carol traveled the world together, creating countless cherished memories and enjoying each other's companionship throughout the years. In his younger years, Ron was a standout athlete, excelling especially in baseball and basketball. He was a passionate and avid outdoorsman who took numerous hunting trips throughout North America and spent many memorable days fishing on Lake Michigan, where he owned a charter boat for several years. Ron was especially proud of his hunting camp in Hillman, Minnesota, where he spent every fall deer hunting with his family. A highlight of his life was hosting the Governor's Deer Hunt at his camp, a testament to the legacy he built there. Ron also enjoyed motorcycles and took many trips over the years on the open road. Ron spent his winters in Sun City, Arizona, which became his home away from home, and where he formed many wonderful friendships. He loved following his grandchildren in their sporting events and cheering them on; he was immensely proud of their athletic and academic achievements. Ron was also an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and faithfully served on the cemetery board for many years. During the summer months, Ron enjoyed spending time at his home on Lake Alexander. He will be remembered for his wisdom, gentle demeanor, and unwavering encouragement to conserve and care for the land. He had a gift for mentoring local businesspeople and was known as a man with a tremendous wealth of knowledge. Above all, Ron loved his family deeply, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Ron is survived by fiancé, Carol Hoheisel of Pierz, MN; children, Mary Beth Nagel of Little Falls, MN, Todd (Jenae) Nagel of Little Falls, MN and Lisa (Kevin) DeGross of Elko, MN; daughter-in-law, Debbie Copa-Nagel of Little Falls, MN; sister, Iris Mitrick of Glendale, AZ; grandchildren, Sam (Trista) Nagel, Gabe Nagel, Ian DeGross and Audrey DeGross; and many nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.

He was preceded in death by parents, Herbert and Bertha Nagel; wife, Marla Nagel; son, Scott Nagel; sister, Corinne Guild; and two infant children.
