Norene C. Tierney, nee Jankowski, 70; Beloved wife of Timothy Tierney; Devoted mother of Kathleen (Michael) Julius, Timothy J. (Abby Sharpe) and Patrick Tierney (John Marshall Jr.); Proud grandmother of Emily, Kristin and Sarah Julius, Adalynn, Declan and Lily Tierney; Cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Anne (nee Butler) Jankowski; Loving sister of Paula (the late Ed) Phelan, JoAnne Bogdon, Marihelen (Bill) Bassett, Jane Verbarg, Bill (Amy) Jankowski, Tom (SueAnn) and Mike Jankowski (Larry Small); also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Active member of the former 99th Street Summer Theatre Festival. Former choir member and cantor at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church in Chicago and Holy Family Church in Shorewood, IL.
A music and theatre lover to the core, Norene was a house manager at Candlelight Dinner Playhouse and payroll manager for the Oriental (now Nederlander)Theatre in downtown Chicago. She spent the last 20 years of her work life in Human Resources as contract coordinator for her Alma Mater, Lewis University, where she earned a B.A. in Theatre and met her husband of 50 years.
