Falmouth - Ronald A Nickerson Sr, 82, of Gorham, Maine passed away on January 2, 2026.
Ron, also affectionately known as Papa, was born in Portland, ME January 10,1943 to Carl Libby and Marion Harmon Nickerson. Ron graduated from Gorham High School in 1961 and graduated from the culinary arts program at SMCC in 1963. Ron began his career at Holiday Inn West Riverside St, later working at St Joseph’s Manor for a short time, and finally found and finished his career working at Salvation Army for 32 years in charge of doing all the meals for Meals on Wheels for the elderly.
Ron married the love of his life, Margaret Bragg on November 23, 1961. Shortly after they began building their family of their three boys. Ron is predeceased by his loving wife, Margaret, who passed in 2011. Ron is survived by his children Ronald Nickerson Jr and Wife Lori of Rock Hill, SC, Dennis Nickerson and his Wife Ann of Gorham, ME, and Scott Nickerson and his Partner Cindy Moore of Gorham, ME. His grandchildren Katelyn Nickerson, Lindsey Caron, Chelsea Caron, Morgan Thorne and Partner Damian, Erika Chrysler and Husband Matt, Joey Daigle and Fiancée Katelyn, Travis Nickerson, Dustin Nickerson, and Luke Moore. And his great grandchildren, Bailey Chrysler, Hudson Daigle, and Damian Thorne.
Ron lived a very full and active life. He began bowling on a couples bowling league with Margaret and continued attending a bowling league after her passing. He also found great joy in golfing with his buddies and spending time at the Lakes Region Senior Center. Ron spent every day at the Lakes Region Senior Center with his friends playing cribbage, puzzles, and talking about the good old days. Even throwing in some of his hilarious and unexpected jokes.
Visitation will be held Friday January 9th from 11:00am to 12:30pm with a memorial service at 12:30 pm at Dolby Blais Segee 76 State street in Gorham, Maine. Immediately following will be a graveside burial at Brooklawn Cemetery 2002 Congress street in Portland Maine. Following the burial is his celebration of life at 390 Main St, Formerly Ocean Gardens, in Gorham, Maine. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Lakes Region Senior Center in his honor.
