Ronald Orcher Obituary

Obituary of Ronald Orcher

November 12, 1938 - November 29, 2025

Ronald Francis Orcher, age 87, of Riverview, Michigan, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025. Born on November 12, 1938, in Detroit, he was the son of the late Francis A. Orcher and Marie T. Orcher. Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Alexina Orcher and three siblings; Marshall, Rosemary, and Dennis.

Ron graduated from Our Lady of Mount Carmel High School in Wyandotte in 1957. He spent his early years immersed in his family's entrepreneurial world. He was the proud owner of Ron's Formal Wear in Wyandotte, Michigan, operating next door to his mother's bridal shop on Fort Street. His creative mind and determination later led him to expand into a successful multi-state rental property business, reflecting his lifelong entrepreneurial spirit.

Following his years in small business, Ron worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan in the Install and Service Department as a computer technician. He retired in 2002 after contributing his strong technical skills and problem-solving abilities to the organization.

Ron lived a life rich with adventure and curiosity. He had a deep passion for traveling and possessed a true vagabond spirit. He loved camping and RVing across the United States, visiting nearly every state in the nation. As an avid boater, he enjoyed exploring the Great Lakes and the waterways beyond. Ron was remarkably inventive and knowledgeable, skilled with his hands in computers, electronics, automotive work, plumbing, and carpentry. There was truly nothing he could not fix-no challenge was ever beyond his ability or determination.

A longtime parishioner and usher at Saint Cyprian Church in Riverview, Ron was devoted to his faith community. He also had a great love for plants and flowers; his home was rarely without fresh bouquets of vibrant, colorful blooms that reflected his appreciation for life's simple beauty. He also truly enjoyed the arts, often attending plays, symphonies, concerts, and ballets.

Ron cherished the company of others. Known for his warm humor, playful spirit, and easy ability to joke with anyone he met, he brought joy to countless people throughout his life. He was generous with his time, talent, and treasure, always willing to lend a helping hand.

In 1983, Ron married the love of his life, Alexina Koniarz. Together they built a beautiful life defined by love, loyalty, and warmth. They had many adventures together in their forty-one years of marriage.

Ron was a loving father to his five children: Dawn (Tony) Zeppa, Deanne (Bryan) Orcher, Danielle Ruterbusch, Timothy (Roxane) Orcher, and Delaine (Steven) Fong. He was also a caring step-father to his four stepchildren: Dave (Jill) Koniarz, Karen (Raymond) Meyers, Bryan (Deanne) Koniarz, and Paul (Michele) Koniarz. Ron deeply cherished his seventeen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy and pride to his life.

Ron will be deeply missed by all who knew him and forever remembered for his kindness, ingenuity, and adventurous heart.
