Obituary published on Legacy.com by Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory - Scottsburg on Mar. 2, 2026.
Ronald Eugene Paxton, 69, passed away peacefully at his home on February 23, 2026. Born on October 12, 1956, in Ypsilanti, MI he was the son of Alvin Aaron and Virgina (Wade) Paxton, who preceded him in death.

Ronald was a 1974 graduate of Wayne Memorial High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army. Throughout his life, he was known for his quiet strength, sharp wit, and love for simple pleasures.

He enjoyed playing bingo and trying his luck with scratch-off tickets, but he was just as happy engaged in a competitive game of chess. A devoted football fan, Ronald especially loved cheering on the Denver Broncos and spent many seasons immersed in fantasy football. He also cherished the time spent fishing with his brother-in-law, Dave, boating with his brother Randy, and eating at Menka's kitchen with his sister Penny and creating memories that will be treasured by those who knew him best.

Ronald is survived by his siblings: Karen (David) Tharp of South Lyon, Michigan; Penny Siess of Garden City, Michigan; Cindy Howell of Powder Springs, Georgia; Randall (Helen) Paxton of Belleville, Michigan; and Henry Paxton of Florida. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as his extended family, Nora and Freddie Valeriano and Travis and Tiffany Rutherford.
