Ronald Paul Pottorf, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on July 26, 1946, in Mariemont, Ohio, Ron lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to his family and community.
Ron was a devoted husband to Suzanne Pottorf (nee Ingram) for over 58 years, sharing a deep bond that was an inspiration to all who knew them. His loving legacy continues through his daughters, Kim (Moe) Cooper and Kelli (Larry) Cruey, his son, Kevin (Susan) Pottorf, and his beloved grandchildren, McKenzie, Kiley, Mikella, Kennedy, Reagan, Madison, Austin, Logan, Austin, Riley, Jonathan, Autumn, Tyler and Chad, and great-grandchildren, Aubree, Braxton and Kaia. He is also survived by his sister Melva Maschinot, He will be remembered as a compassionate mentor who touched the lives of many.
A proud veteran, Ron served in the United States Marine Corps. His commitment to service continued as he became a dedicated police officer for over 20 years while also serving as the president of the Hamilton County Police Association and later teaching at the Police Academy, where he shaped the futures of many young officers.
Ron was a man of many passions. He found joy riding motorcycles and had a profound appreciation for the outdoors, often spending his time landscaping and nurturing beautiful gardens filled with flowers. After retiring from law enforcement, he brought his strong work ethic to the Frazier-Williams car dealership in Milford as a general manager, where he continued to make lasting friendships and impact lives.
Known for his great sense of humor and his selfless nature, Ron welcomed everyone into his life as family. He was often there to lend a helping hand to those in need, guiding numerous young people toward brighter paths with kindness and encouragement.
Funeral services will be held on November 20, 2025, at Evans Funeral Home in Milford, with visitation starting at 5:00 PM, followed by the service at 7:00 PM.
In a world often in need of kindness, Ron leaves behind an undeniable legacy of love, laughter, and goodwill. His spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Pottorf, Hazel Pottorf and siblings, Tom Pottorf and Goldie Henderson.
