Whiteville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Kingsbridge House in
Brevard, North Carolina, at the age of 78.
Ronald was a man who embodied the spirit of a bygone era, one filled with small-town values imparted by his beloved mother. With a heart as open as the sky above him, he was known for being a happy-go-lucky sort of fellow who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. In his youth, he could often be seen pedaling through the streets of his hometown on his trusty bicycle, collecting odd treasures and memories along his journey across the city.
Family was the cornerstone of Ronald's existence, and his greatest joy was his daughter, Angie. Though preceded in death by his parents, James Odell Prince and Cora Lucille Ward Prince; his cherished daughter, Angela "Angie" Prince; three sisters, Betty Lou Hinson, Gladys Marie Herring, and Mary Elizabeth "Libby" Prince; and two brothers, Chancey Odell Prince "Sonny Boy" and George Fletcher Prince, Ronald's legacy of love and kindness endures through those he leaves behind.
He is survived by his two loving sisters, Ruby Register of
Whiteville, North Carolina, and Peggie Prince Smith of Scottsburg, Virginia; along with his two steadfast brothers, Terrance Eugene Prince of Campbellsville, Kentucky, and Jimmy Prince of Monroe, North Carolina. Their shared memories and enduring bond are a testament to the life Ronald lived with heartfelt sincerity.
Though no formal services are planned, Ronald's memory will continue to inspire his family and friends, reminding them of the joy that can be found in life's simple moments and the importance of holding loved ones close. As we remember Ronald, may we carry forward the lightness of spirit he so effortlessly shared with all who knew him.
