December 21st, 1933 - April 28th, 2025
Bayville, New Jersey - It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ronald G.
Rando, at the age of 91, on April 28th in Bayville, New Jersey. Born on December 21st in Paterson, NJ, to Orazio Rando and Rose Califre, Ronald proudly served his country in the Korean War. Following his service in the U.S. Air Force, he established a distinguished career with the AFL-CIO, where he held the positions of Fund Director and EVP Secretary Treasurer until his retirement in the early 1990s.
A loving husband to Helen for 34 years, Ronald was also a devoted father to Donna, Ronald, and Joseph; a supportive stepfather to Amy and William; a cherished grandfather to Vincent, Ashleen, Keith, and Charlotte; and a great-grandfather to Luke. Ronald was an uncle to nieces and nephews and a friend to many.
Ron treasured time spent with his family and friends. He found enjoyment in golfing, dining out, and engaging in lively discussions about politics and sports. His weekly poker nights became a constant in the community and remained so for many years.
Ronald is survived by his beloved wife, Helen Rando, his sister-in-law Catherine, his children, Donna Rando, Ron Rando Jr. and his wife Donna, Joseph Rando, Amy Lavender and her husband John, and William Lambert; his grandchildren, Charlotte Lavender, Vincent DiCanio, Ashleen DiCanio, Keith Rando, his wife Danielle; and his great-grandson, Luke Rando. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul and his wife Madeline, Frank and his wife Delores, Ramon, and his sister Helen.
Viewing for family and friends will be on Friday May 2, 2025 from 5:00-8:00pm with a prayer service at 7:30pm at Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville, NJ 08721. Military Honors will be at 7:30pm at the Funeral Home.
