Ronald Rebatzke Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 2, 2025.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ronald Leonard Rebatzke. Ron was born on April 21, 1942 in Milwaukee Wisconsin and was born to eternal life on September 30, 2025 in New Berlin Wisconsin, his home since 1973. Ron was proceeded in death by his parents Isabelle and Cyril, brother Tom, wife Ginger and son Robert (Janice). His legacy lives on through his beloved sister Elaine, his children Jim (Sandy), John (Veronica), Cindy (Mark), Tammy (Bob), Steven, and his dedicated granddaughter Shanna (James) and numerous other grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends.

Ron was a pillar in his community and spent most of his life as a public servant. After high school he enrolled in the Army and recently even experienced the Honor Flight. He started off as a journey man at the Milwaukee Journal, joined the New Berlin Fire Department in 1968, where he advanced through the ranks to Chief in 1994 and retired in 2004. After retirement, Ron realized that "staying home" was making him stir crazy and he became a school bus driver at Durham where he stayed for almost 18 years before finally retiring for good.

Ron put up a good fight at the end and while his mind wasn't ready to go, his body had different plans. He was surrounded by loved ones during his final days and took his last breath in the early morning of September 30th.

Services will be held at Gethsemane Lutheran Church (13200 W. Greenfield) on Tuesday October 7th starting with visitation at 10:30am and church service starting at 1pm. The burial service will follow at Highland Memorial Park (14875 W. Greenfield).
