Ronald L. Roode, 88, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. He was the husband of Janet (Ramoska) Roode for 59 years. Son of the late Lloyd E. and Eva M. (Kent) Roode, he was born in Boston and raised in Mattapan. Ron was educated in Boston schools and attended Northeastern University. He then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was a Veteran of the Korean War, being honorably discharge as an Airman 1st Class. He resided in Brockton for 6 years before moving to Stoughton in 1974. Ron worked for Draper Labs in Cambridge for over 20 years before retiring in 1982. In his free time, he loved fishing.
In addition to his wife, Ron was the brother of Wayne Roode of East Brookfield, Susan Briam of Lee, Robert Roode of Seekonk, Marion Pottle of Florida and the late Kenneth Roode and Carol Maer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, June 17 from 4-5:30 PM followed by a Funeral Service at 5:30 PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ronald‘s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 320 Nevada Street, Suite 201, Newton, MA 02460 (www.alz.org/manh) or American Cancer Society, PO Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741 (www.cancer.org).
