Rose P. (Farren) Feeney, known by her loved ones as “Patsy”, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026, at her daughter’s residence in Rockland. Born, raised and educated in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Patrick Farren and Bridget (McLaughlin), and attended Boston Schools, graduating Class of 1955. She was a long-time resident of Stoughton for over 50 years before spending her later years in Braintree. She dedicated much of her professional life to public service, working for the Massachusetts Department of Corrections out of the Central Office in Boston before transferring to the Norfolk office. Beginning her career as an administrative assistant and secretary, Rose worked for over 25 years, advancing to the role of supervisor, retiring in her early 60’s. Following her retirement, Rose devoted her time to giving back to her community, volunteering at the Stoughton Food Pantry for more than 10 years and was a longtime parishioner of St. James Church in Stoughton. She deeply cherished time spent with her Irish Catholic family, especially during visits to New Hampshire and Florida. She loved to travel, taking trips to Alaska, Las Vegas, and Ireland, and some of her favorite memories were family vacations in Marshfield when her children were young. At home, Rose found joy in tending to her rose bushes and caring for her yard, but above all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Rose is survived by her children Deborah Silva and her husband James of Whitman, Mary Glover and her late husband Thomas of Rockland, James Feeney and his wife Gail of Seekonk, and was preceded in death by her son John Feeney who passed in 2015. She is also survived by her grandchildren Courtney and Kayla Sylvia, Roxanne and Alicia Feeney, Michelle Bragg, Christopher Murphy, Adam and Matthew Silva and was preceded in death by her grandson Patrick Glover. She also leaves behind her siblings James Farren and Kathleen Scott, and was predeceased by her siblings Joseph, John and Paul Farren, and Margaret McGuirk. She will be remembered fondly by her childhood friends Rosie and Isabelle, as well as many friends from the Stoughton Food Pantry. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Cassidy and Bernadette of Old Colony Hospice for their exceptional care, compassion, and support during this difficult time.

Visitation will be held at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt. 27), Stoughton, on Wednesday February 4th from 9-10 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church in Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Interment will be held at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rose’s memory may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 321 Manley Street, West Bridgewater, 02379.
