Ronald Schleder, 86, of Iowa City, Iowa passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026, at his home surrounded by family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m, 30 minutes prior to the start of the 2 p.m. service at Brosh Chapel. A private family inurnment will be held at Czech National Cemetery.

Ron was born on August 22, 1939, in Iowa City, Iowa. He graduated from Franklin High School in Cedar Rapids and enlisted in the Army National Guard where he served for 23 years, attaining the rank of Captain. Ron married Loretta Shultz on January 16, 1960, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids where they became long time members. Ron spent his entire 37 year career at Rockwell Collins starting out on the assembly line, working his way up through numerous management positions, culminating in the opening of Rockwell Coralville and serving as Plant Manager for 10 years. Ron was a member of the Masons and was a Shriner. He also volunteered his time as Cubmaster for his sons' Cub Scout Packs. Ron loved traveling and classic cars. People would call him a "Jack of all Trades" as he had many hobbies and interests. However, there was nothing he loved more than spending time with his family.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Loretta Schleder; their children David Schleder of Frisco, TX. Daniel (Tina) Schleder of Cedar Rapids, Dorie (Terry) Stallings of Daphne, AL. and Dennis Schleder of Phoenix, AZ; Grandchildren Bradley, Ryley, Madison, Brandon, Ryan, Lucy, and Taylor; and Great Grandchildren Layla and Jack.

He was preceded in death by his Grandson Derek.
