Ronald Schroeder Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Waite Funeral Home Brunswick on Aug. 15, 2024.
Ronald E. Schroeder, age 87, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2024, in Seven Hills, Ohio, surrounded by his loving family. Ron is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley and his sister, Nancy. He is survived by his devoted partner of 26 years, Roberta.
Loving father of Timothy (deceased), Thomas (Jean, deceased), Ted (Kit), Tammy (Harry) and Tracy. Proud grandfather of T.J., Ava, Amber, Sarah, Brooke and Nicole, and uncle to David.
Ron was a retired United States Postal Service letter carrier for 35 years and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army where he was a sergeant in the Korean War.
He was an expert craftsman and an overall "Mr. Fix-It." He was always there for anyone who needed a helping hand. He was an avid nature and animal lover; his best friend was his black cat Weegie. Ron thought of everyone before himself. He would send endless greeting cards and letters to all the people he knew and loved. He was always sure to greet everyone he met with a kind word, friendly smile, or warm handshake.
Ron will be remembered as a selfless, dedicated family man who loved spending time with Roberta, his children and grandchildren. He was happiest when he was surrounded with a house full of loved ones.
Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m., Monday, August 19, 2024, at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 3300 Center Rd., Brunswick, where funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 20th. Interment will take place at Hope Memorial Gardens, Hinckley.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Ron's honor to Nine Lives Cat Center, 25990 Highland Rd., Richmond Heights, OH 44143 ~ or ~ www.homersfund.org
Online condolences and memories may be left for the family on Ron's guestbook at www.WaiteFuneralHome.com.
