Ronald Eugene Seaton

Ronald Eugene Seaton, 80 of Wichita, Kansas and most recently a resident of Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Veteran's Home, Big Spring, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2024. Services will be held at Ark Valley Christian Church, Wichita, Kansas on November 16th, 2024, at 10:00 am with interment at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery in Winfield, Kansas.
Born in Wichita, Kansas, on May 3, 1944, he was the son of the late Donald Seaton and Lou Ella Wahl Seaton. After his father's passing, Ron, while still in high school, carried the responsibility of assisting his mother maintain the family farm as well as helping raise his 8-year-old sister, Lana. Ron graduated from Balko High School in 1962.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Husbandry from Panhandle State University, in Goodwell, Oklahoma, and worked on the college farm during those years. In March of 1968, he entered the army and was stationed at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, where he served as clerk in the Provost Marshal's office. While in Virginia, he was fortunate enough to be able to take many day trips to see the historic landmarks of that area. After his discharge from the army, he returned home to the Oklahoma panhandle and worked in the cattle industry and later in the oil and gas industry in Oklahoma, Texas, Nebraska, and Kansas until his retirement.
Ron was a patriot. He loved the Lord and faithfully served for many years as a deacon in his church and in the ministry of Gideons International. He loved to sail, and to fly, and was an avid collector of coins, books and other historical items.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Seaton and Lou Ella Wahl Seaton Kliewer; and his sister, Lana Kay Seaton Hill.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Willard Seaton; his children, District Judge R. Shane Seaton and his wife, Stephanie; Amber Tomlin and her husband, Robin; their mother, Jeanene E. Seaton; and grandchildren, Taylor Seaton, Morgan Seaton, Peyton Seaton Scott and her husband, Brendan, Gage McGuire and his fiancé, Rachel Butler, Sydney Tomlin and Peyton Tomlin.
