Ronald Sharek Obituary

Ronald Thomas Sharek
January 31, 1946 - October 1, 2024
Ronald Thomas Sharek, 78, passed away peacefully on October 1st at his home in Sonoma. Born on January 31, 1946, Ron was a lifelong resident of Sonoma and a 1963 graduate of Sonoma Valley High School. He was the son of the late Chet and Geneva Sharek.
A dedicated landscaper, Ron ran his own business for many years and later worked for Cagwin and Dorward Landscape. He played a key role as a contractor in the construction of Sonoma's Field of Dreams, which celebrated its 30th anniversary this year. Ron was also a beloved coach for Sonoma Valley Little League, devoting countless hours to the sport and community he cherished. An accomplished baseball player in high school, he continued playing both slow and fast pitch softball in local leagues.
Ron loved spending time with his family, rooting for the San Francisco Giants and 49ers, and playing golf whenever he could.
He is survived by his son Ron (R.C.), his longtime partner Linda Jaggie, his sisters Sue Magaziner and Nancy Sigrist, nephew Taylor, niece Alana, and Linda's family: Ken Jaggie, Edward Buckner and Kevin and Sanette Jaggie. He was predeceased by his brother Steve Sharek in 2002.
A private service for family members will be held, and a public celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sonoma Valley Little League or a hospice of your choice.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
