Ronald Dennis "Dino" Shell

1953 - 2026

Appling, GA – Surrounded by his loving family, Mr. Ronald Dennis "Dino" Shell, 72, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 9, 2026 at home surrounded by his loving family following a courageous fight with cancer.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years: Gloria Lane Shell; his son: Ronald Kevin Shell (Joyce), daughter: Kim Shell Poteet; grandsons: Eli Poteet (Rylie Rutherford, fiancée), Daniel Poteet, Wesley Shell, Matthew Shell, and Zackary Shell; brother: Terry Shell (Tammy); sister: Cindy Shell Crews-Morris (Michael); and many nieces and nephews. Dino was preceded in death by his parents: Jean and Kenneth Shell.

Dino was born in Greenwood, SC. He worked for Proctor and Gamble for over 25 years. He then began working in auto parts sales at Wrens Auto and later at NAPA in Thomson. He enjoyed reading and loved watching the Braves, Falcons, Hawks, and UGA Football. His biggest passion was spending time with his family. He and Gloria built a lifetime of love where he enjoyed having a house full of his kids and grandkids. Playing video games with them on Sundays was one of his favorite things as well as watching them play sports.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the following: NAPA, MSA Hospice, Augusta Oncology, and PCP in Thomson for the love support, and prayers.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 13, 2026 at 2:00 P.M, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Greg Bentley officiating.
