Ronald Strait Obituary
Ronald “Ron” Strait, 85, of Lawrence, Kansas, passed away Sunday, February 22.
Ron married the love of his life, Martha “Marty” Strait, on January 20, 1968, in Hutchinson. They first met while performing with the Hutchinson Sky Ryders drum and bugle corps, a passion for music that would span their lifetimes together. Together, they attended Wichita State University, where Ron earned a degree in business. He worked for the Internal Revenue Service in Topeka and later for Employees Reinsurance Corporation in suburban Kansas City before retiring in Lawrence.
Ron was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Martha. He is survived by his daughter, Catherine Flynn, son-in-law Paul Flynn, and grandson Andrew; and by his son, Jason Strait, daughter-in-law Tricia Degraff, and Eliza and Joanne Strait.
No formal memorial is planned. Private family services will be held at a later date.
