Ron Tomasta passed away suddenly on November 11, 2025 at the age of 66 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Marilyn, mother-in-law Beverley Bolokoski; children Dara (Chris) Ober, Adam Tomasta (TJ Madigan), Ty (Vanessa) Tomasta, Sunni Tomasta, Benjamin (Hannah) Tomasta, Emma Tomasta; grandchildren Brook Kennedy, Preston Ober, Ciara Kennedy, Nolan Ober and Keira Ober, and his furry companion Charlie. He was predeceased by his parents Miro and Lydia Tomasta, sister Karen and father-in-law Alvin Bolokoski.
Ron was born in Coaldale, Alberta on January 4, 1959, to Miro and Lydia Tomasta. He was the third of nine children; Bob (Kathy), Diane (Tom) Slywka, Nancy, Rick, Melenie de Graaf, Gary (Lana), Lorraine, and Antonette. Growing up he worked the family farm, until starting a career at Nortel and moving to Airdrie, Alberta, and ending up at Walmart Logistics Canada. He met the love of his life in 1977 on a blind date, that led to 41 years of marriage, six children and five grandchildren. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed serving through the church throughout his life. He was a man who was always serving and helping those around him, with great love and compassion for others. Ron deeply loved his family, his yard and his Bravada. He was a self-taught handy man, which paired perfectly with his beloved (who loves to decorate and spice up the place). All their home renovations were done as a pair, she’d dream it up and he’d make it happen. He was a wonderful father, always willing to help anyway possible. As a grandfather he spoiled everyone rotten. He will be dearly missed.
A funeral service will be held for Ron at The Church of Jesus Christ (900 Reunion Gateway NW) on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 1:00 pm. The funeral will be broadcast live at
