Obituary published on Legacy.com by Macken Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Feb. 4, 2024.
Ronald Oswald Tri, 75, passed away February 2, 2024 at The Mayo Clinic, St. Marys Hospital, Rochester, MN, with his family at his bedside.
Ronald was born March 6, 1948, in Lake City, MN to his parents, Oswald and Irene Tri. He grew up on the family farm in the Pine Island area. Upon graduating from Mazeppa High School, Ronald attended Rochester Junior College and graduated from Winona State College. Ronald was employed with International Transport in Rochester for a number of years. Later in his working career, he was employed at Crescent Electric, Woodruff's and Clements Chevrolet in Rochester. In 1974, Ronald married Nancy Thompson. Together, they had two daughters, Kelli & Kari. They later divorced. On Nov 2, 1984, Ronald & Rose Sexton were married in Duluth, MN. Together, they had one daughter, Katie.
Ron enjoyed doing yard work and being outside. Even as he got older and his health deteriorated, he could not wait to get outside every Spring. He always found something to keep him busy until he could kick in the lawn mowing season. Ron did find time for vacationing, visiting casinos and family activities. He enjoyed going on bus tours with his wife, visiting and often making new friends. Ron's children and grandchildren were the joy of his life. He especially enjoyed talking with them, catching up on their active lives and sharing jokes.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Rose; children, Kelli (Mark) Kellen of Byron, MN, Kari (Todd) Hammel of Zumbrota, MN, and Katie (Zack) Leao of Rochester, MN; grandchildren, Madeline Butrum, Jack Butrum, Jacob Williamson, and Olivia Williamson. He is also survived by his brother, Arnold (Julie) Tri of Zumbrota, MN. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents.
