Obituary of Ronald Vasher
December 7, 1931 – June 1, 2025
Ronald Vasher. Age 93 of Wyandotte.
Our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend to all, Ronald R. Vasher, has passed away after a fierce battle with Alzheimer's Disease. He is survived by his heartbroken wife of 72 years, Bonnie (Amo) Vasher, children Jill (Chris) Mayville and David (Mandy) Vasher. The word in-law was not in his vocabulary. Mandy and Chris WERE his children too. He is also survived by his only grandchild, Trevor Vasher (Megan Curry) and sister, Susan Tomaszewski (Huntley Robinson). His parents, Dorothy and Ezeb, preceded him in death as well as his wife's mother, Hazel Amo. Siblings Donna (Joe), Marvin (Pat) and William (Fran) also passed away before him. Two best friends left him recently, Allen Mayville in 2021, and in January, Cooper, his furry son, who was glued to his side.
Ron's battle is over. Our years of worry and tears and grieving without closure are over, HIS years of restlessness and frustration are over. However, NOTHING took away his passion for life or diminished his spirit. While the illness took away his memories, it never diminished his love for "his people." Up until the very last breath, his love for others and their love for him was unwavering. During his battle, his favorite saying after meeting someone he loved was "He's a good one."
Our dad had many hobbies, one which sustained he and Bonnie after Wyandotte Chemicals/BASF so callously terminated their blue-collar workers. Dad's nightmare became a dream come true when Ron's Custom Carpentry became a huge success, and he worked until the age of 70. Before and after that they traveled the United States extensively but always landed back in their beloved gulf coast of Florida. Anyone in Ron's path learned of his love of the water, in particular the Detroit River. He refinished old Chris Craft's and a Grady White that had seen better days, and we grew up with bodies of water in our blood and old Mustangs beneath our hands.
Ron's kindness, loyalty, unwavering love and humor will live on in all who knew him. His smile and uncommon wisdom helped not only his family but friends, neighbors and strangers. We don't know how to go on without him.
HE WAS A GOOD ONE.

Ronnie & Bonnie lived across the street from our house while I was growing up. After 35 years, my parents moved to Florida, but they stayed put. Ronnie´s lawn was always meticulously kept, as was everything he touched. My dad and Ronnie were good friends and were often mistaken for brothers.
I love his infectious laugh.
He will be greatly missed by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him.
