Ronald W. Wallon passed away on February 27th, 2026. Ron was born in Olean, New York on January 11th, 1948, to the late Bernard T. and Josephine Wallon.
After graduating from North Syracuse High School, he joined the New York Air National Guard and served in the United States Air Force. A dedicated and hardworking man, he held a variety of roles across central New York while raising a family in North Syracuse.
A devoted NHL fan and history enthusiast, he could captivate you for hours—sharing everything from the finer details of hockey to the specifications of every tank used in World War II. Ron was a “Jack of all trades” and he mastered them all. Whether it was under the hood of a car or remodeling a house, his vast knowledge and diverse talents gave him the ability to create, envision, reinvent, and fix anything. He never missed the opportunity to share what he knew and teach others the skills he honed.
To many he was a big brother, to his children a loving daddy, and to his grandchildren an incredible papa. Those left behind will carry the memory of his whistle, his lessons, his cooking, his smile, but most importantly his loving heart. His kindness, strength, patience, and love will be remembered always. His family finds comfort in knowing he is now reunited with his son James, who preceded him in death in 2021.
Ron is survived by his wife Pamela; his children, Marie (Tim) Donigan, Taryn Wallon, and Ryan (Israel) Wallon; his grandchildren, Damon Wallon, Julia and Reaghan Donigan, Zackery, Jesse, and Oliver Wallon; his siblings, Terrance Wallon, Danny (Shannon) Wallon, Anthony (Cathy) Wallon, Edward (Laura) Wallon, Raymond (Helen) Wallon, and Diane Walker; sisters-in-law, Patricia Wallon and Jacqueline Wallon; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bernard T. and Josephine Wallon; his son, James Wallon; siblings, Thomas Wallon, Alan Wallon, and Bernard P. Wallon; sister, Susan Dolson; brothers-in-law, Ralph Walker, and Steven Dolson; and sister-in-law, Pismai Wallon.
A celebration of life for friends and family will be held in May 2026. In lieu of flowers, please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.
