Ronald Dean Walsh

Ronald Dean Walsh passed away peacefully on May 4th, 2025.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 28th, 2025 at a time and location to be determined.
Ron was born to Ida Helen and Richard Keith Ratchford on July 2nd, 1945, in Iowa City, IA. He spent his childhood living in Oxford and Iowa City, IA. He enlisted into the US Navy in 1962 and received an Honorable Discharge in 1966.
Ron began his own business as R&J Carpet Service in Cedar Rapids, IA, later going on his own with Walsh's Carpet Service where he and his son Adam Walsh worked together until he retired at the age of 72.
Ron will be best remembered for his love of Science Fiction, his one-liners and his love for his family. Ron and his spouse Gloria enjoyed renovating their historic home in Iowa City.
Ron is survived by his spouse Gloria S. Walsh, his two children, Adam Aron Walsh and Jenna Joanne Willoughby and his three grandchildren, Devin Michael Alberhasky, Rhiannon Neva Walsh, Aron Jan Walsh.
