Diane Williamson

Diane Williamson, 83, of Iowa City, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 1, 2026.

Diane was born on October 10, 1942 in Champaign, Illinois to Burton and Isabel (Kiernan) Hurd. After graduating from Champaign High School, Diane attended the University of Illinois where she received her bachelor's degree in education. She then went on to teach elementary school for 10 years.

On August 1, 1964 she married Kenneth Williamson and to this union two children were born.

Diane enjoyed fishing and traveling. She was a dedicated Kappa Alpha Theta sorority volunteer and was proud to call Iowa City her home for over 50 years. Above all, Diane cherished her family. She was her grandkids' number one supporter in their extracurricular activities, a devoted and loving wife and mother as well as an avid Labrador dog lover.

Diane is survived by her husband, Kenneth; children: Kenneth (Ashley) Williamson and William "Bill" (Kirsten) Williamson; grandchildren: Jacob, Dylan, Lachlan and Kenley Williamson and her brother-in-law, John Schively. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Noel Schively.

Private family services will be held later this summer.
