Ronald Westman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lary Funeral Home - Dover-Foxcroft on Mar. 19, 2024.
Garland - Ronald Morton Westman, 91, passed away peacefully March 14, 2024, in Northern Light Mayo Hospital, Dover-Foxcroft. He was born January 3, 1933, in Burlington Vermont, the son of Orson Andrew and Eleanor Morton (Cutting) Westman. Ron grew up on a dairy farm in Cambridge, Vermont, and graduated from Cambridge High School, Class of 1950, in Jeffersonville, Vermont. A proud Korean War Veteran, Ron joined the U.S. Navy in July of 1950 and was honorably discharged in October of 1953.
Upon his discharge, Ron moved to Berwick, Maine, and was employed by General Electric in Somersworth, New Hampshire, as an Electrical Engineer where he worked for 39 years until his retirement. After retirement he moved to Garland with his wife, Judy, where he loved working outside at his home and keeping his lawns and equipment in great shape. Ron always helped on projects at church when asked and he loved the Lord and saw Him in nature which he also loved. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cheering for Boston sports teams. Ron was the holder of the Boston Post Cane for the town of Garland.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Judith (Orff) Westman of Garland; son, Brian Westman and his wife, Laurie, of Dover-Foxcroft; daughter, Karen Westman and her husband, Victor, of Valatie, New York; two step-daughters, Sally Hussey of Kennebunk, and Karen Dube and her husband, James, of Berwick; ten grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Amber Westman; and step-son-in-law, Edgar Hussey.
Burial will be in the Dover Cemetery, Dover-Foxcroft. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
