Ronald D. "Ronnie" Whitman

Ronald (Ronnie) D. Whitman, 68, of Mayfield, NY, passed away on Monday November 10, 2025, in Johnstown, NY.

Born in Gloversville, he was the son of the late Clifton and Mildred Whitman. He was a graduate of Mayfield High School in 1976. Ronnie worked hard throughout his life and was employed by Taylor Made Awnings, Jack Buchanan's, East Land Dairy, 84 Lumber, Route 29 Lumber, and the Fulton County Department of Transportation.

He is survived by his son Jason Whitman (Joanna); siblings Maynard, Nancy, Linda, Mary, and Roger; grandchildren Anthony (Ashliegh), David, Shyanna, Wyatt; great-grandson Nolan, former wife Beth, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Ronnie was predeceased by his daughter Katherine (Katie) and siblings Gloria, Melvin, Elsie, Richard, Robert, and Sharon.

Ronnie will be remembered for his love of hunting, fishing, playing Santa, and most of all, spending time with family and friends. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to help anyone in need-truly the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back. His kindness, generosity, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service for Ronnie will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Amico Funeral Home, 150 South Main Street, Gloversville. A celebration of life will follow at the VFW in Broadalbin from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
